First outreach resulted in 88 paper signatures

We had our first outreach event this morning from 8 AM to 12 PM in downtown Northampton, next to the farmers market. We set up our awning at Gothic and Main Streets. Over four hours we collected 88 signatures for our petition to the Mayor and City Council! That’s 22 signatures an hour, which we think demonstrates a lot of interest in this idea! Of the 150 copies of our brochure, just 31 are left! We judge this first effort a big success! If you came by and signed our petition, thanks so much! Staffing the table were Mark, Lee and Penny.

The weather proved a bit chancy, starting calm and dark then moving to sunny and breezy. Our awning had to come down half way through the event to keep it from blowing away. We attached our banner as best we could. It was challenging to keep our brochures from flying away too!

Our brochures and banner were provided free of charge by Paradise Copies.

Our next scheduled event will be at the Hot Chocolate Run on December 2nd. We have a permit for that as well.
