Thanks to supporter Crispin who provided us with pricing on the Greenfield, Massachusetts community network GCET. You can see their plans and rates in the updated table below.
One thing to note about GCET, Greenfield’s community network, is that it is a wireless network for residences. More specifically, when you request service they set up a wireless antenna that points to a wireless transmitter nearby. This feeds into a cable in your house; you don’t need to have all wireless devices. For Northampton, we are proposing a true fiber optic network to the home. Wireless networks by definition share bandwidth. This is not necessarily a problem if the network is architected correctly. A true fiber optic network to the home should deliver consistent network access that reliably meetups published speeds.
